Sprawling Snapshots of the 2008 NCS Reuben Award Weekend

Congratulating Don Wimmer ("Rose is Rose") on knowing me.

Me in a tuxedo. A camera.
A broken elevator. Yellow DO NOT ENTER tape.
The perfect opportunity served up with a Mai Tai of lunacy.

Joining Kathy & Don Wimmer for the Annual Obligatory Hotel House Plant Photo-Op. Alas, this year, my favorite cohort,
Kelley, did not join us. She selfishly decided that giving birth to twins was far more important than her preordained obligation to me. . After years of my on-line abuse she shunned me like an Amish farmer who dares to build a better barn. Her absence drained the color out of our evening. We were consumed with sadness and sorrow...

...until we saw the dessert.
Our thoughts then turned to "Kelley, who?"

Congratulations, Kelley & Jerome
on the bouncing baby Twinfants!

(I've had women come up with excuses to avoid being seen
with me in public but this is a bit extreme, Kel!)

Each year we take a moment to honor our fellow cartoonists whom we've lost over the past year. One of them being my dear friend, Roger Armstrong.

I couldn't help but notice the orbs in both of these pictures
(none of which were visible to the naked eye). I'm sure this is Roger's way of letting me know he was there!
